PRIVACY POLICY
Arms Appraisals LLC holds all personal information provided by clients to its appraisal service in the strictest confidence in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and the ethical standards of confidentiality of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). We use the collected personal property information to provide appraisal services to our clients. Our canons of ethical standards require that we do not disclose information to third parties except as specifically authorized by our clients, or as required by law, or for a professional peer review committee. Any other disclosure would be prohibited under federal law, USPAP, and the ASA Code of Ethics.
Our policy regarding personal information about our clients is:
- We maintain a secure office and computer environment so that your
information is not placed at unreasonable risk. - The categories of non-public personal information that we collect from a client depend upon the scope of the clientʼs appraisal engagement. This includes information about personal property assets, tax identification numbers, and other non-public data. Additionally, it may include information about transactions between clients and third parties and information from third-party sources.
- Unaffiliated third parties that require access to our clientsʼ personal information, such as federal and state tax regulators, insurance companies, and the like, may only review client records with a release dated and signed by the client, as required by law.
- Maintenance of client information is pursuant to the requirements of USPAP and ASA. After the required period of record retention, all information will be destroyed in a manner consistent with applicable policies.
